The North-East’s media flocked to Newton Aycliffe for a campaign launched by Mantis Media.

We managed the kick-off to Newton Aycliffe FC’s latest fundraising campaign, called ‘Give Us A Quid!’, which is asking for people to donate at least £1 towards club coffers.

We enlisted the help of European Cup winner Ross Turnbull, who last week won a Champions League medal with Chelsea.

The ex-Middlesbrough goalkeeper, who’s originally from Aycliffe, posed for pictures and spoke to the region’s media, which included Sky Sports News, Tyne Tees TV, BBC Look North, Real Radio, BBC Radio Tees, the Daily Mirror, the Northern Echo, the Evening Gazette and local website Aycliffe Today, which is operated by Mantis Media.

“Ross was the ideal personality to launch this campaign,” said Mantis director Martin Walker

“Not only was the timing was perfect, with him winning a Champions League medal last week, but Ross is also a high-profile name in Aycliffe and is always keen to help the club.

“We were delighted with the media turnout for the launch – it not only demonstrates what Mantis Media can deliver, but it will also prove to be a hugely-successful campaign for the football club.”
